Longmynd

Step outside of the classroom and bring learning to life!

Arthog Outreach in Telford, Shropshire offer a variety of educational adventures and a wide selection of environmental activities on-site in Wellington, Telford and off-site in various Shropshire locations and further afield.

We are passionate about outdoors learning and the difference it can make to young people. Not only do our programmes enrich and enhance curriculum learning, but they also aid the holistic personal and social development of young people through positive engagement. Working closely with schools and colleagues in the academic industry, we continue to develop our products and services and tailor our provision.

We want your pupils to develop, discover and nurture their interests. We want to help them to keep physically and mentally healthy, whilst supporting them to develop their resilience, confidence and independence in a fun and memorable way.

Nurture Groups, Special Needs and One to Ones

We have built up a wealth of experience with young people who require extra support, some of whom come to us on their own or in smaller groups. We can shape the experience to suit the individual by changing the time required to concentrate, the activity, the venue, the repetition and contact required, to gain trust and help individuals develop.

Staff Training and PD Days

Our experiences are bespoke, created to suit your needs. We can provide on-site training in Outdoor Learning, or you may prefer a staff bonding activity off site such as canoeing down the River Severn, for example.

We have you covered

Planning and preparing shouldn't all be about paperwork! We take the hassle and stress out of organising your visit by providing you with all of the necessary risk assessments, kit lists and safety briefings

We provide programmes ranging from activity days or weekends for groups of friends and families through to development training events for staff teams and adventure skills training for individuals wanting to progress their expertise and gain an activity leadership qualification.

A successful climbing club runs throughout the winter months on our indoor wall. This is being expanded to give participants access to activity days through the school holidays and weekends.

We are also working alongside local Canoe Clubs to increase access.

Nights away

From Outreach we can also provide a residential experience, the size and scale can be flexible to suit your needs. Nights away allow more time and create bigger memories.

This could be a single night of camping on a school field, or a visit to a local Scout Campsite

Alternatively, through our partners at the Longmynd Adventure Camp near Church Stretton, we have access to a quiet, remote feeling, residential facility. This is set in its own land with a hall/dining area, fully catered kitchen, pod sleeping accommodation, and shower and toilet facilities.

The Adventure Camp is nestled into the beautiful foothills of the Long Mynd, a perfect location for hill walking and exploring. It is easily accessed, as it is still within South Shropshire, but for the participants it feels a world away!

We support and deliver DofE Expeditions.

We also do amazing trips away for Adults, based around one activity or multi activities to suit.

In addition, we are developing programmes to replace the need to go on hugely expensive and unsustainable overseas trips, with UK based expeditions, where participants will be able to undertake environmental or community based projects, challenging journeys and adventurous activities. All at a lower cost to the budget and the planet.

So just get in touch and let us build the best experience for you and your students!

Adult courses

Arthog is very well known for its work with young people. What is less well known is that a significant part of our work each year is with adults.

Have a look at our Training courses, for individuals, personal development and for team development.

We have run many ‘Arthog Away’ courses over the years to exciting locations for adventure travel, across the UK and Scotland including Arran, Torridon, Spain and Majorca. Great opportunities to immerse yourself in an activity or try new activities for a weekend or a week.
